Time Box Score Winning Team Recap
7:00 #4 Duke 19 vs. Mercer 9 Duke Recap

Beasts Of The Day.

  • Case Matheis, Duke. Matheis finished with 5 points (2 Gs & 3 As) and 4 GBs on the evening. Case was all over the field and made life difficult for the Bears defense all night long.

  • Teddy Henderson, Duke. Big day for the junior, as he won 15/20 faceoffs and was instrumental to Duke getting out to a huge 12-2 halftime lead.  Teddy's unassisted goal to start the third quarter got the entire Duke sideline pretty hyped as well.
Hitters List.
  • Lucas Wittenberg & Chris Baxa, Mercer. On a tough night for the Bears, these two certainly played valiantly. Wittenberg was like John Stockton tonight, dishing off 5 As and even managed to get 1 goal, for a nice 6 point evening. Additionally, Baxa was Mercer's most dangerous scoring option as he finished the game with a hat-trick and helped to fuel a small Mercer run covering the end of the 3rd to the middle of the 4th quarter.

  • Justin Guterding, Duke. The senior finished with six points (3Gs & 3 As) and was relentless early on in the game.  Indeed, Justin was a dynamo in the 1st quarter, as he finished with 4 points (1 g & 3 As) before the end of the period.
