The top seeded Ohio Machine put together another solid effort against the 4th seeded Charlotte Hounds to advance to the MLL Championship by a final score of 16-10. Ohio’s John Grant, Jr., was the difference maker again as he finished with 9 points (6 goals and 3 assists). Grant had the crowd going nuts as usual.

Grant’s teammates weren’t too bad either. Marcus Holman finished the game with 6 points (3 goals and 3 assists). Three other Machine players (Steele Stanwick, Jake Bernhardt and Peter Baum) all scored a pair of goals as well.
Ohio quickly jumped out to a 3 goal lead after the first quarter and kept the lead throughout the first half, going into halftime up 8-5. The second half was more of the same as the Machine poured in the first four goals of the 3rd quarter to pull away from the Hounds.
Charlotte gave a valiant effort, but Ohio was just better. Joey Sankey led the Hounds in scoring with 5 points (1 goal & 4 assists). Syracuse fans will be happy to know former Orange great Dylan Donahue dropped 4 goals in the game.
Ohio now moves on to the MLL championship game at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. They will face the Denver Outlaws who defeated last year’s MLL champs, the NY Lizards.
