College Crosse Preview.
This is a big one for both squads. Marquette and Notre Dame come into the game with identical 8-1 overall records and 3-0 conference records. While this is a non-conference game for both teams, it is definitely important for at-large purposes.
Marquette has a nice RPI (16), but aside from their wins over Richmond and Villanova, the Golden Eagles don't have big statement win yet on their resume. Taking down Notre Dame would certain do the trick. This a major opportunity to get one of those signature wins and propel Marquette from bubble-out status, to legit postseason contender.
This game has major importance for Notre Dame as well. The Irish are in a great position to get #TheBigBBQ's #1 overall seed and an upset loss to Marquette would certainly put a wrench in those plans. This will not be an one for the Irish, Marquette has the number 1 defense in the NCAA (Notre Dame is #2) and the Golden Eagles have not lost a game since their loss to (The) Ohio State back on March 4th. If you add in the fact that its a midweek game, with little time to prepare, and one can easily see how troublesome today's game might be for the Irish.
I think this should be a pretty good game. The Skittles Scale says ND is favored, but that it'll be close. Lacrosse Happy Hour is always a fun time and this one should be no different.
