After a flight home from Albany, and staying up on Saturday night to watch the Big Ten final, the wake-up call Sunday at 5:30 a.m. seemed abrupt for an 8:15 a.m. Southwest flight to the Charlotte ESPNU studio. I’m usually crunching the numbers, looking at stats and crafting possible brackets on the plane. I don’t read airline magazines; they are germ-factories. I spent way too much time on MapQuest looking at miles between universities.

The bracket is out, and 18 teams have either earned or were given the opportunity to continue their seasons as part of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. As always, some are elated, some are disheartened, and some are just confused. D-I Men's Bracket Breakdown: Head-to-Head Shaped Field
The 18-team NCAA Division I men's lacrosse tournament field is set, and the proceedings begin Wednesday with a pair of play-in games. The winner of Towson-High Point heads to South Bend on Saturday for a tilt with No. 1 Notre Dame, and whomever emerges between Marist and Bryant goes to the Carrier Dome on Sunday night for a date with second-seeded Syracuse.
