This feels right:

Here are your highlights for today:

  • The Lost Trophy: At 11:00 A.M., ESPNU will broadcast a documentary on the 1990 Syracuse men's lacrosse team. Generally considered the most dominant college lacrosse team ever, the NCAA vacated the Orange's 1990 title. This remains the dumbest penalty that the NCAA imposes: Implying that reality did not happen is peak truthing, and it's impossible to erase actual history. Yet, here we are. Some further notes on the 1990 iteration of Syracuse lacrosse:
    • Syracuse's scoring margin per game is the highest ever in the NCAA Tournament era at 11.31 goals per game. Syracuse's closest game that season was a 15-13 victory over Pennsylvania and the Orange won their postseason games by a combined 62-31 margin.
    • Syracuse's 20.85 goals per game average is the highest ever in the NCAA Tournament era.
    • Syracuse's 33.31 points per game average is the highest ever in the NCAA Tournament era.
    • Syracuse's 12.46 assists per game average is the second highest in the NCAA Tournament era.
    • The team had seven All Americans in 1990, including five first team selections.
    • The team featured four Hall of Fame players (Paul Gait, Gary Gait, Pat McCabe, and Tom Marecheck) and a Hall of Fame coach (Roy Simmons, Jr.).
  • The NCAA Freaking Tournament: We wrote a stupid amount of words about today's games. Consume:
    • Albany-Cornell: The Great Danes are a slight favorite at Schoellkopf.
    • Yale-Maryland: It's going to be close -- real close! -- in College Park today.
    • Towson-Notre Dame: The Irish are a big favorite, but how will Notre Dame deal with Towson's style?
    • Ohio State-Duke: Which Buckeyes team will show up to Koskinen -- the one that pooped its pants against Rutgers and Detroit or the one that beat Denver?

Here's Saturday's full schedule. Please let me know if there are errors. I'll fix/populate links to live stats and video as the day progresses (if necessary).
