GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, College Crosse Nation! Thanks for making us a part of your day! Here’s everything you need to know for January 13, 2020.
College Crosse News
Need to find a place where you want to see every D1 men’s lacrosse game? You’ve come to the right place.
All 521 regular season games and most scrimmages are right here for your taking. We’ll update this as we find out links for stats and streams, as well as recaps and box scores at the end. We’ll still be doing gameday and recap posts, but it’s a great resource to find out past results or what’s to come in fewer steps.
#GrowTheGame: These schools are officially lacrosse schools.
One of my favorite annual posts is finding out which schools are adding lacrosse for the upcoming season. We all know the Division I programs starting up, but there’s also plenty of schools at the other levels.
This year, institutions from Division I all the way down to the NAIA are getting set to begin a new era with the addition of at least one lacrosse team to their list of sponsored athletic programs. Let’s see who’ll we’ll be welcoming this year (h/t The Growth Blog).
Former Maryland star Kelly Amonte Hiller and former Johns Hopkins defenseman Dave Pietramala are this year’s Tewaaraton Foundation Legends honorees. The Tewaaraton Legends Award annually honors recipients who played college lacrosse prior to 2001, the first year in which the Tewaaraton Award was presented.

US Lacrosse Magazine with a nice preview of Rutgers.
Brian Brecht is reaching into the recent past to try to give a jolt to his Rutgers lacrosse team. The Scarlet Knights found themselves in the NCAA tournament conversation in 2016, 2017 and 2018, emerging as a factor in the Big Ten as well after struggling for more than a decade. And especially in the case of 2016 and 2017, much of the success stemmed from being different.
I had a good time at #LaxCon on Sunday.

From Syracuse.com: Syracuse lacrosse goalie merry-go-round stops with Drake Porter.
One of the attributes that has earned Drake Porter the position as starting goalie for the Syracuse lacrosse team is his knack of quickly getting over bad goals he allows.

What’s Up, New PhilaJersey?
Jersey Dogs: Meet the N.J. dogs playing in Puppy Bowl 2020 and the Dog Bowl.
Happily enough, Sprite was already adopted when she filmed the Puppy Bowl in October. The rescue is one of two New Jersey puppies headed to the 2020 Puppy Bowl, set for Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 2). Petriello is hosting a watch party fundraiser to benefit the rescue.
World/National News
Best movie of 2019. I saw it again on Sunday: 1917 won the box office this weekend.
Sam Mendes’ World War I epic 1917 conquered the box office battlefield with a stellar $36.5 million weekend, one of the best nationwide starts ever for the month of January and well ahead of projections.
