Another week has come and gone in the 2019 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse season, and we’re here to break it down with a new COLLEGE CROSSECAST. But this time we’re trying a few new things to help liven the conversation!
i’m joined by Safe and Jake as we introduce some new features to the podcast, and right off the bat we introduce our mailbag segment (:16). Tweet your questions to @College_Crosse and we’ll answer them on our next podcast! We dive into the news of Duke-Syracuse moving outdoors and the potential end to the Johns Hopkins-Virginia rivalry (1:24) before we streamline the recap segment into a new format. I start off by reading off the scorecard (18:25) and then we dive into a discussion about the games that jumped out at us. We talk Towson-Duke (26:15), Cornell-Yale (36:20), Delaware-Hopkins (40:53), Notre Dame-Virginia (42:30), Rutgers-Syracuse (47:30), Villanova-Maryland (56:15), and Princeton-Penn (1:08:22). Given this new format may focus a bit on the ACC, B1G, and Ivies, as well as those not in those conferences already in the polls, we also introduce the non-P3 spotlight (1:03:10) with teams and performances that stuck out at us outside the top 10 tier of teams.
We get back to our normal format for this season with our top 20 (1:10:40) before wrapping up with a look at Tuesday’s games (1:20:45). Additionally, here’s the link to our Weekend Scorecard post for Week 6 with results, box scores, winning team recaps, and highlights from this past weekend to follow along while listening to the pod. For your convenience we’ve also included the Big Board with all the box score & recap links you’ll need from this past weekend at the bottom of the post.
Let us know if you like the new format or not in the comments, as we’re trying new things with the recap episodes as the season rolls on. You can also subscribe to us on iTunes and Google Play or by following us on Spotify. Take a listen on Podomatic or by using the nifty player down below! Thanks so much for listening to the podcast & supporting the site. We greatly appreciate it.
