The Terps led by as many as five goals in the game, but saw their advantage diminish goal by goal as Hopkins clawed its way back into the game with a four-goal fourth quarter. In the end it was too much Matt Rambo, who finished the game with four goals and two assists.

Nick Ossello tied the game with nine seconds left to cap off an incredible comeback, but Notre Dame ultimately fell short. Wesley Berg emerged as the Daniel Boone of the Pioneers with a truly heroic goal to win the game in overtime, sticking the ball in the far corner two minutes into the extra period.
