2015 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinals: THE FACEOFF

A fantastic weekend of lacrosse awaits you. Let THE FACEOFF be your guide.

You guys! We're so close to Memorial Day Weekend! That means there are four huge games around the bend as the 2015 NCAA Tournament heads into the quarterfinal round. Whether you're going to Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, or just watching the games at home, you're in for a treat.

On Saturday, Albany and Notre Dame meet in a rematch of last year's quarterfinal game, which many regarded as the game of the year. Can the Irish take another step closer to their first title, or will Lyle Thompson bring his show to Philadelphia for the Danes' first Championship Weekend appearance? After that, Denver will bask in the celebration of lacrosse's expansion by hosting the first quarterfinal ever held west of the Mississippi River. Standing in the way of Bill Tierney and another Final Four berth are the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are looking to go two-for-two against the Pios in 2015.

The action moves across the country to Annapolis on Sunday for the bottom half of the bracket. It just so happens to start off with one of the biggest rivalries in college lacrosse as Syracuse takes on Johns Hopkins. Both teams haven't been on disastrous title droughts, but their insane fanbases will tell you otherwise. Speaking of droughts, Maryland is still looking to ends its 40-year dry spell without a title and North Carolina wants to get back to its first Final Four since 1993. Those two will square off in the weekend's finale, renewing an old ACC rivalry.
