College Lacrosse Weekend Internet Talking Interface: April 7 and 8, 2012

Do you see that picture? That's a picture of an angry bunny anAAAAAAHHHHHH WORST EASTER EVER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! IT'S STEALING MY SOUL! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyway, there are 28 games this weekend with 26 happening on Saturday. Only five teams aren't getting any action this weekend, and that's good because discipline is a virtue. There are some big ones and some small ones -- I see you, VMI-Manhattan! -- but they're all ones, which doesn't make any sense.

Here are your six highlights for the weekend:

  • Virginia at North Carolina: In this corner: A wild boar with a taste for blood. In that corner: A mountain lion that enjoys a sanctimonious pistol whipping. ACC lacrosse: Feel the terror!
  • Princeton at Syracuse: Let's party like it's 2000-2002. (Except no fancy trophies are on the line. So, it's not much of a party at all. Just some soggy hot dogs and macro-brew beers.)
  • Towson at Massachusetts: THUNDERDOME! Towson has had quite the week, pulling off a six-goal comeback against Hofstra and then a four-goal comeback against UMBC. They're hotter than a two dollar pistol, Officer Krupke. Of course, Massachusetts is unbeaten and have Will Manny, so, you know, good luck, Tigers.
  • Harvard at Cornell: This one's for all the equity stakes in financial services companies.
  • Loyola at Fairfield: If Fairfield is going to legitimately contend for the ECAC crown this season, step one is knocking off currently unbeaten Loyola. The Greyhounds haven't had much of an interest in relinquishing their perfect record on the year, but Ohio State put a dent in Loyola's siding last week with a close 8-7 game. This game has huge implications for the Greyhounds with a visit to Denver looming next weekend.
  • Lehigh at Colgate: Peter Baum versus Matt Poillon. Have fun, fellas!

And here's the rest for the weekend:

This is your open thread for Saturday and Sunday. I think that Bill Tierney would look just precious in an Easter bonnet. People will be around to yak about whatever is tickling their fancy. Tomorrow's games will appear in a post, well, tomorrow.

Also, if you haven't yet, give a "like" to College Crosse over on Facebook and make sure to give a follow to @SexyTimeLax.

UNC - Virginia

Turned it off at 11-5. I was really impressed with Jimmy Bitter for the Heels — he has the whole package. He can really zing it from the lefty wing.

For UVA, Steele was Steele. But he got a lot of help from Emery (CALI CANNON!!!) and LaPierre had a sweet transition dodge and snipe. Van Arsdale was excellent as well.

UVA is tough. Excellent offensively, pretty good defensively, solid goalie. Benincase did a nice job today stopping Keenan from taking the game over.

Sunday Funday Log5's!

Albany at Hartford: 98% Hartford wins

Bellarmine at Air Force: 100% Air Force wins

Using my other model I get: 86% Hartford wins and 99% Air Force wins. So, there’s that.
