Question on attending games at Johns Hopkins
I was wondering if any of the CC regulars had ever attended a game at Homewood field - I've never been, and was thinking about going down for the Syracuse game. Have looked at the ticket order form from the Hopkins athletic site and not sure if I'd want reserved or general admission, and what's the likelihood of the game selling in advance in the event that I don't decide one way or the other until the last minute. Thanks.

Selling out in advance.
It’s tough to gauge right now, but I they might hit capacity for the Syracuse game. Capacity at Homewood is 8,500, but they’ve had way more than that in the past (although, not in the immediately recent future). The last Syracuse game in 2010 drew about 6,500, and that was a late-March night game with both teams in the top-10 (I want to say Syracuse was #2 at that point; Hopkins a little behind).
This year will be an ESPNU affair (which may thwart attendance) with a late-afternoon start (which may raise or diminish attendance based on springtime kiddie activity).
However, Hopkins’ biggest crowds since 1998 have been when local-ish teams have visted Homewood.
In the end, it’s a little too early to tell. I’ve had friends that bought day-of in the past and were fine. It’s a fancy high school football field, basically. All the seats are pretty much the same. What I’d do is track Hopkins’ attendance the next week or two and then make a decision. Weather is obviously going to impact all of this for the locals.

Shhhhhh....
Contrary to what my username would lead you to believe, I’m a Hopkins alum, undergrad and grad. Don’t tell our TNIAAM friends.
Agree with Glaude on all points, but want to add that in my 10 years living in Baltimore during and after college, I never bought a ticket in advance and always got in. So unless we start hearing news about this being a crazy-important game, you should be fine.
