2012 College Crosse Bracket Challenge: Quarterfinal Update

PPL Park looked like a really awesome place for lacrosse. I demand a quarterfinal at Red Bull Arena now. Thank you very much, MLS!

Another round has come and gone, and that means another update to the scoreboard for the College Crosse Bracket Challenge. In this round, things started to separate a little bit. Nobody had a perfect Final Four, oh by the way (I won't subject to you to Miley Cyrus this time around), but some participants still have their National Title Game nicely still in place. For others, this is really the end of the line for you, as you guys got none of the semifinalists correct. Our apologies, and we recommend you light your bracket on fire in an outdoor setting away from any objects. Some trends that I saw while marking the tallys:

  • Virginia and Johns Hopkins hurt a lot of guys. I know, they are under the "SAME FOUR TEAMS (plus Duke)" category and since 1975 one of them or Syracuse made it to championship weekend. Welp, that's not going to happen this time around. Be sure to root for Loyola and Duke for all the pain caused by Notre Dame and Maryland to your brackets.
  • A lot of the championship picks have really dwindled down with Hopkins, Virginia, UMass, and ...Syracuse all out. That means things are gonna spread out quite a bit towards the end
  • Many of you who did well in the 1st round did well in the Quarterfinals as well. However, some who didn't do so well recovered pretty nicely this time around.

So without any further ado, here's a look at how the standings look now: Bracket Challenge Quarterfinal Scoreboard

Best of luck with Championship Weekend as the College Crosse Bracket Challenge is shipping up to Boston (WOAH-OH-OH) and commuting over to Foxborough from a hotel in Harvard Square with a bunch of 11 year-old Long Island boys running around, playing fiddle stick, and preventing you from getting any sleep.
