From Syracuse.com: Chase Scanlan primed for role in the spotlight.

Chase Scanlan’s early impression of the Syracuse lacrosse team last spring was similar to that of many others who compete against the Orange. Namely, SU has some guys who know how to play the game.

The Daily Collegian previewed PSU’s 2020 schedule.

Coming off its best season in school history, Penn State has a chance to earn even more accolades throughout the 2020 season. Penn State, led by coach Jeff Tambroni, finished the 2019 season 16-2 (5-0 Big Ten), the best record in team history. While Penn State is primed for repeated success, the team faces a brutal regular-season schedule.

From Bill Wagner at the Capital Gazette: Brendan Kelly cedes ownership of Chesapeake Bayhawks to Major League Lacrosse.

There has been no greater proponent for Major League Lacrosse than Brendan Kelly ... So, it is stunning news that Kelly has decided to move on from Major League Lacrosse.

From US Lacrosse Magazine: MLL will become a single-entity league and forego the franchise model.

Major League Lacrosse, which is about to embark on its 20th season, has voted to become a single-entity league and forego the franchise model on which it was founded. Bill Wagner of The Capital Gazette confirmed MLL’s decision while reporting that Brendan Kelly has ceded ownership of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, who have won four league titles since Kelly bought the franchise in March 2010.

Here’s the full list of protected players ahead of the PLL expansion draft.

The Premier Lacrosse League announced the protected players from each of its six lacrosse clubs Monday night ahead of the expansion draft on Feb. 12 that will provide Waterdogs LC with the majority of its players. Teams were required to submit names by Monday at 5 p.m. EST, and the league initially said it would release the names Wednesday. Instead, it surprised fans with a reveal Monday night.

Clarke Wise coaches lacrosse in central Mississippi. “My wife and I moved from Washington D.C.,” Wise said. “We live not far from the two-lane practice field and we were driving by one day and I saw about ten or so of these kids out there and I looked over and I said, ‘Julie I think they’re playing lacrosse here in Mississippi.”
