The 2020 Tewaaraton Award ceremony has been canceled.

In light of the canceled NCAA lacrosse season, the Tewaaraton Foundation has announced updates to the 2020 Tewaaraton Award, including publication of the final 2020 Watch Lists for the best men’s and women’s college lacrosse players of the year. The Tewaaraton Award annual ceremony that was scheduled for May 28 at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., will not be held, and no college awards will be presented in 2020.

From the CTPost: The lacrosse season of high expectations gone, Yale’s Andy Shay waits.

Yale was on spring break, so that meant the lacrosse team was practicing at 1 o’clock at Reese Stadium on the afternoon of March 11. The program’s sports administrator called the team’s trainer to let him know that he and athletic director Vicky Chun would arrive shortly.

The MIAA reaffirmed its commitment after a two-hour conference call that high school athletes would be allowed to compete in the coming months if Gov. The former University of Maryland football player has been cooped up – like many of us – in his home amid this COVID-19 pandemic. One of his daughters, Samantha, is a goalie in lacrosse. She is a freshman at King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham.

#Mikeystrong: Michael Bavaro heads to Atlanta for treatment, rehab.

More than 50 friends, classmates, teammates and well-wishers greeted Cardinal Mooney Catholic School senior lacrosse player Michael “Mikey” Bavaro on Tuesday afternoon at Dolphin Aviation. The 18-year-old Bavaro, who was injured and paralyzed from his waist down in a boating accident March 19, was transported from Sarasota Memorial Hospital to a medical plane that was taking him to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which specializes in spinal cord and brain injuries.

Blessed: N.J. church using ‘boxes of hope’ to send aid during COVID-19 outbreak.

So Morante and members of the church collected donated groceries and supplies into a box, and delivered it to the affected family. The “box of hope” was meant to show the infected church member and the family they weren’t alone in their battle against the coronavirus.

Now THIS is a headline: Man facing charges after high-speed chase on I-5 with pit bull in driver’s seat.

A Washington state man was arrested Sunday following a high speed chase on Interstate 5 in which the suspect’s pet pit bull may have been driving the vehicle during part of the incident, authorities said.
