Circle These Dates

  • 2/8 (at Syracuse): The first game in the Karweck era will be against a familiar foe, but at the beginning of the season. In recent years, Syracuse and Colgate have played at the end of the year when the ACC and Patriot League Tournaments were done. Karweck is also familiar with the Orange from his days with the Irish.
  • 2/26 (vs. Hobart): Colgate appeared to be on their way to an easy win against the Statesmen last year. They led 8-2 after the first quarter, but suddenly cooled off for the rest of the day. Hobart went on a 4-0 run and a 5-0 run to take a one-goal lead before the Raiders tied it up late in the fourth. Justin Scott scored the game-winner with 3:23 left in regulation.
  • 3/2 (vs. Lehigh): Lehigh appears to be a team that should contend for a Patriot League title along with Loyola. But Colgate has some good talent on their hands and played the Mountain Hawks very well last year. Lehigh needed a 4-0 run to end the game and get a three-goal win in the regular season before beating the Raiders by five in the conference quarterfinals.
  • 3/23 (at Army West Point): It was a down year for the Black Knights last season after a good start to the 2018 season. Their game against Colgate kind of summarized their year. After taking a 5-2 lead early into the second quarter, the Raiders scored the next six goals to take a three-goal lead. Conor Glancy scored with 36 seconds left for Army, but it was too late.
  • 4/13 (at Holy Cross): You’d think a team like Colgate would be fine with Holy Cross, right? That’s where you’re wrong. The Raiders have lost their last three meetings with the Crusaders, with their last win coming in 2015 by a goal. They beat Holy Cross by two in 2014. Peter Burke will look to keep the Crusaders competitive in the Patriot League as an interim head coach this year.
