COLLEGE CROSSECAST Ep. 88: Women’s Lacrosse Quarterfinal Check-In

Let’s recap what’s happened so far in the women’s tourney and get you set up for what should be a fantastic quarterfinal Saturday.

NCAA Lacrosse: Women's Championships Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The 2018 NCAA D-1 Women’s Lacrosse Tournament got underway last weekend and already there’s been plenty of twists and turns. Overtime games, seeded teams going down, and offensive powerhouses flexing their muscles were dotted across the tournament to set up a quarterfinal filled with intriguing games.

I’m joined by Jake and Skyler as we talk about the women’s tournament, but not before a little Capitals talk first (1:00). We recap the first round (4:00) games followed by the second round (17:00) and analyze some of the bigger findings of the weekend. After a little Tewaaraton talk (27:00, we turn our attention to the issue of getting women’s lacrosse games on TV more and making it easier to access and view (33:30), with the little hint of “don’t schedule all four quarterfinals at the exact same time.” Speaking of those quarterfinals, we give our previews and picks for them (46:15), including some real tasty matchups in Stony Brook-Boston College and Northwestern-North Carolina.

As usual, you can listen to this episode down below or over on Podomatic. Also be sure to subscribe to us on iTunes and Google Play. Let us know how we do as we’re trying something new with women’s lax episodes, and we’ll take your feedback as we’ll be back at it with Skyler next week to get you set for the Final Four at Stony Brook!
