With a game slated for Saturday, it appears Holy Cross will not have Judd Lattimore at the helm. According to sources, the Crusaders have placed Lattimore on administrative leave pending investigation.
The fourth-year head coach reportedly drew the ire of some parents and players for coaching tactics such as having the team running wind sprints at halftime against Brown.
“We are evaluating a personnel matter and the college cannot comment on personnel matters,” a team spokesperson said in a statement.
The Crusaders have struggled this season, coping with the graduation of several top players and have dropped to 1-8. Scoring just 5.38 goals per game, the offense hasn’t been able to find itself.
Holy Cross missed out on the Patriot League tournament last season, but had made the previous two with last-day victories over Boston University to steal the final spot in the conference postseason.
There did appear to be hope for the Crusaders early in the season when they upset Harvard on the road in double overtime, but since then, things have not gone their way.
Previously, Lattimore had been an assistant coach at Penn, Michigan, Bucknell, and North Carolina. Before that, he was an assistant coach at the DII level with Limestone in 2003 and 2004.
