Circle These Dates
- 2/9 (vs. Virginia): It’s been an early season tradition and treat to watch these two teams play each other. Lars Tiffany has won both of his regular season meetings against the Greyhounds since joining the Cavaliers in 2017. But Loyola got revenge last year in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Ridley. Add the shot clock and dive rules to the mix and it should be a high-scoring matchup.
- 2/16 (at Johns Hopkins): A surprise blowout by the Greyhounds last year at home will stick in the back of Blue Jay minds when the two teams get together. Hopkins loses Shack Stanwick, Joel Tinney, and Brock Turnbaugh, but do return a very good defense as well as Kyle Marr.
- 2/27 (at Towson): This game was closer than what you might see in the boxscore. Towson was 1-3 at the time and needed to find a starting goalie. Shane Brennan returned inside the cage due to Josh Miller getting sick and he helped the Tigers stay in the game late until Loyola scored three straight to end the game. Towson has some more experience this season.
- 3/8 (at Duke): The Blue Devils exploded for nine goals in the second and third quarters total to help them get past the Greyhounds last year. But Duke loses their top offensive producer in Justin Guterding as well as Danny Fowler in goal. Loyola hasn’t defeated Duke since the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
- 4/6 (vs. Lehigh): Challenging the Greyhounds could be a Lehigh squad with a ton of returning players and talent all-around. Loyola took both meetings last season, including in the Patriot League Championship. This could be the best team the Mountain Hawks have had since 2013.
