COLLEGE CROSSECAST The Little Boxes Project 1: Albany’s Tom Nuckel

Former Albany attackman Tom Nuckel kicks off the Levittown-centric suite of College Crossecast episodes

Ryan McDonnell

In the first edition of The Little Boxes Project of College Crossecast, I’m joined by former Albany attackman Tom Nuckel. Nuckel played for the Great Danes from 2012-2015, right when the program was rising into a national power under head coach Scott Marr. He also spent a grad school year of eligibility with the D-2 Adelphi Panthers.

In this interview, we cover a range of topics, including

-How his father and brother were big influences in how he got started in lacrosse

-His playing days as a Division Blue Dragon

-How opportunities in summer lacrosse helped get his name out there in the recruiting process

-His decision to join on with Albany

-Tom’s favorite memories as a Great Dane, as well as his experiences with Coach Marr and playing under the wings of the Thompsons

-Some of his personal pop culture favorites

You can listen to the episode on Podomatic or down in the player below. Your iTunes or Google Play subscription to College Crossecast will also get you the episodes from The Little Boxes Project, so nothing new is needed on your end! If you’re a Levittown person wanting to subscribe, you can do so as well.

We’re also bringing back the Spotify playlist for these episodes, and Tom gave us some of his favorite songs to kick it off!
