Nice article about former Rutgers lacrosse midfielder Ali Steinberg and her selection as a member of Israel women’s national team.

“It’s just such an honor,” Steinberg said. “I graduated college and I thought my career was done.” The 26-year-old has played lacrosse since she was 8 years old. In addition to teaching physical education, Steinberg coaches the Stanwich middle school girls lacrosse program and runs a youth club team with her sister, Jessi. After graduating from Rutgers, Steinberg didn’t think too seriously about continuing her lacrosse career. She dabbled in a few summer lacrosse leagues and occasionally in scrimmages.
Last fall, however, Jessi’s fiancé, who plays for the Israel men’s national indoor lacrosse team, mentioned that the Israel women’s team needed players for some scrimmages at Yale University. Steinberg and her sister, both Jewish, jumped at the chance to play.

All In with UConn Lacrosse is back up.

Great post from the Providence Journal on Brown’s newest recruit. Nicholas Cioe.

The Brown University lacrosse team had heard about Nicholas and decided to "draft" him. Now, the afternoon of Dec. 7, around 20 players were arriving at Western Hills on a bus with Laura aboard to pick up Nicholas and bring him back to sign his "letter of intent."

It's part of a national program called Team IMPACT that puts kids with special needs on college teams. To knit into the roster, Nicholas had already been a guest on the sidelines of practices and locker talks for the past month.

So the players knew him and now rushed off the bus to escort him back on. The Brown mascot had come, too, and gave Christopher a literal bear hug.

The Norwich Bulletin with a post on the NLL’s new logo.

The unveiling took place at Mohegan Sun because of its "strategic location," according to Sakiewicz. It's the nearest franchise the league has to the media capital in New York where the NLL is trying to court interest from, not only Wall Street (owners), but Madison Avenue (sponsors).

"This is an important team for us," Sakiewicz said. "We're going to be here opening night with a big contingent of people interested in our league."

In his opening remarks Saturday, the commissioner said he was talking with, at least, 30 cities about future NLL franchises. He has been meeting with NBA and NHL owners and talking with arena operators, but the four original cities are the top priority.

What’s Up, Philly?

The Eagles lost again and are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

The only good thing about the game was that our boy Chris was chilling in the press box.

World/National News.

Meet Freddy, the world’s largest dog.

“Freedy’s 7ft 6in Great Dane loves chicken and peanut butter... but he's also munched his way through 23 sofas.”

Rogue One made a ton of money this weekend.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now looking to punch the hyperspace button toward a $155M weekend opening after a $46.25M Saturday, which is down 35% from the pic’s $71M Friday (including $29M previews). That’s the Sunday morning estimate from Disney. That figure was the 12th best opening day ever and second-best for December after Force Awakens’ all-time high of $119.1M.
