It's Fat Tuesday, boys and girls. If you're a Catholic, I hope that you have something exciting planned before your 40 days of penitence and eating fish on Fridays. (I still don't quite understand the meatless dietary requirement for Lenten observance. Was Jesus a hippie or something that went vegetarian in his final days? He had the hair for it, that's for sure.)
I have a pretty exciting personal Mardi Gras planned:
- Work all day, but throw beads on the staff that don't make me want to smash their heads into their cubicle wall.
- Go home and have a Fat Tuesday feast: Fruit salad and a diet Snapple. You know, really splurge and not care about the calorie intake.
- Get anywhere from eight to nine reasonable hours of sleep.
Pretty crazy, right? I guess my day mirrors the college lacrosse schedule on the docket for today. Delaware-Johns Hopkins is your headliner for the afternoon/evening and ESPNU will have the broadcast live from Homewood Field at 5:00 P.M. Wagner is also in action at home against Rutgers, trying its best to keep alive its Wagner Cup and Reverse Survivor chances. Virginia, instead of sucking down hurricanes and being a hedonist on Bourbon Street, will sacrifice VMI to the lacrosse gods at Klockner Stadium.
Although, when you think about it, that won't be too much different than the scene in New Orleans tonight.
