One month down, two to go! The college lacrosse season will be over before we know it!

It’s time for this week’s edition of the Power Rankings!

Before we get to this week’s edition, here’s Skyler’s Women’s Power Rankings.

You may have also realized I did not do a Power Ranking for last week. That’s because I had a busy week with school (because, you know, I’m still a student), midterms, and of course being on the road for a lacrosse weekend.

With that, I’ll show you my rankings from Week 4:

And now, without further ado, here are this week’s Power Rankings! They are updated from my top 20 I submitted on Monday, so midweek games also count toward this. I’ll also do short blurbs just for the teams in the top 20.

  1. Albany (Last Week: 1) - After a scare against Cornell and an annihilation of UMass, will they come out of the weekend as the top team in the nation?
  2. Maryland (LW: 2) - Some think Maryland is #1, but we’ll see if the Terps can solidify their case as the top team in the country.
  3. Duke (LW: 3) - The Dukies crushed Richmond, but have another big test ahead of them in Baltimore against Loyola.
  4. Denver (LW: 4) - Speaking of big games for top teams, Denver has one of their own in a road matchup with rival Notre Dame.
  5. Loyola (LW: 8) - With a win over Duke on Saturday, the Hounds would probably solidify their resume for an at-large bid, if they don’t win the Patriot League.
  6. Syracuse (LW: 11) - Another one-goal win for the Orange, which isn’t surprising, but their young guys stepping up in a big way definitely is.
  7. Villanova (LW: 7) - Tough win against Delaware was followed by a difficult loss to Brown, continuing a stretch of three games where the Wildcats struggled.
  8. Yale (LW: 12) - Yale hasn’t gotten much respect since losing to Villanova in overtime, but they’ve been taking care of business as of late.
  9. Army West Point (LW: 13) - The Black Knights will be tested against Lehigh in their latest Patriot League matchup this weekend.
  10. Rutgers (LW: 10) - Brown wasn’t a shootout that was expected, but the Scarlet Knights look to take the state of New Jersey with a win over Princeton on Saturday.
  11. Virginia (LW: 6) - The Wahoos are still winless in the ACC.
  12. Notre Dame (LW: 9) - They’re certainly better, and they played better against Maryland than they did last year, but should keep Ryder Garnsey out on the field at attack for the entire game.
  13. Vermont (LW: 15) - A 7-0 Catamount team has the weekend off before their big America East conference opener against Albany.
  14. Ohio State (LW: 5) - The Buckeyes are another team that has struggled in three games, as they suffered a tough overtime loss to Marquette before edging Detroit Mercy by just a goal.
  15. Georgetown (LW: 17) - It would’ve been nice if Georgetown played Hofstra on Saturday (and hopefully they do), but the Hoyas are still undefeated with a hot Hobart team coming to town.
  16. North Carolina (LW: 14) - The Heels finally lost their first game, to Denver, but almost lost to St. John’s over the weekend.
  17. Johns Hopkins (LW: 18) - A nice bounceback win over Princeton last Saturday with a big date against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome.
  18. Robert Morris (LW: 25) - They might be the best team in the NEC this season.
  19. Penn State (LW: 19) - After losing to Robert Morris two weeks ago, the Nittany Lions took care of Penn on the road and Furman in Maryland, with Cornell coming up on Saturday.
  20. Brown (LW: 26) - They fell to Rutgers in a 10-8 game, but came out on top against Villanova in a big win for the Bears.
  21. Sacred Heart (LW: 33)
