College Crosse Game Day: How To Watch, Attachments, Links, & Open Thread For March 31, 2018

Another stacked day of games. Here’s how to watch them.

It’s another full day of games on this College Lacrosse Saturday, including three games airing on national television. Unfortunately there’s no Saturday Night Lacrosse, as Athletic Directors still haven’t listened to Ryan and I’s infinite wisdom, but there’s plenty of good stuff to give you your fix of lacrosse for the day.

You can find today’s Big Board directly below. Clicking on the team name will take you to that team’s homepage. Clicking on the Stream cell will take you to the broadcast of that game, while the Live Stats cell will take you to the live stats of that game.

Games To Watch

  • Michigan vs Maryland: It’s a match-up of the Master and the Apprentice. Kevin Conry faces off with John Tillman for the first time since Conry left to take the head job with the Wolverines, where he has them rolling in the Top 20. After the biggest win in program history against Notre Dame, can Michigan announce it’s rival as a contender with a win over Maryland, or are the Terps still the class of the Big Ten?
  • Ohio State vs Penn State: In what essentially amounts to a lose and you’re out of the At-Large conversation game, the Buckeyes welcome the Nittany Lions to the Horseshoe. Both teams had shaky out of conference starts, but PSU comes in having won four of five while the Buckeyes are reversed, losing four of their last five. The winner is probably back on track for the tournament, the loser is likely sitting at home come the Big Barbecue.
  • Army vs Bucknell: A big one in the Patriot League. The Bison are T1 in the conference, having started 4-1, and just got their biggest win of the year by knocking off Loyola in Baltimore. They’re on the road for the second week in a row, against an Army team that’s faltered after a 3-0 start. Will the Patriot League once again eat itself alive, or will Bucknell assert itself as the team to beat?

Game Of The Day

  • Syracuse vs Notre Dame: A match-up of teams both undefeated in ACC play, the winner - especially if it’s the Orange - essentially locks up the #1 seed in the Blatant ACC RPI Booster. The Orange got things going back in the right direction with a thriller of a win against Duke last week, while Notre Dame has been a little shaky recently. Four of the last five in this rivalry have been decided by one goal, where Cuse has buttered it’s bread over the last 2 seasons.

Towson and Hofstra will be wearing special helmets and uniforms for their CAA opener:

Boston College women’s lacrosse star Kenzie Kent is coming back to play lacrosse next season as a graduate student.

Our own Skyler Gilbert did a great job touching on the recent events with the women’s team at Virginia Tech.

A great piece in US Lacrosse Magazine, especially in the wake of this week, highlighting faces and voices in the black lacrosse community.

Song Of The Day

It’s a crossroads weekend for teams in college lacrosse. With everyone either already under way or beginning conference play, it’s a chance to either take a big step or fall backwards. So there’s only one choice for today

Games start at noon! I’ll see you out there!
