On a day that saw mostly blowouts, Richmond comes through and delivers a big upset win over North Carolina. College Crosse Recap.

Duke vs. Jacksonville: Shout out to Duke University men’s lacrosse head coach John Danowski on his 376th win. Coach has now moved into sole possession of most career wins in D1. It was win number 157 for BOSS Danowski at Duke.

The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Justin Guterding (1 G & 3 As), Joey Manown (3 Gs & 1 A), and Sean Lowrie (3 Gs & 1 A), who had 4 points each. Starting goalkeeper Danny Fowler allowed only 4 goals and the Duke defense combined for 12 caused turnovers. Duke is now 6-2 and is on a 4-game winning streak.

Richmond vs. UNC: Huge win for the Spiders. Richmond continued its stellar play on defense by holding the Heels to only 5 goals, with only one goal in the second half. Benny Pough was excellent tonight, as he stopped 11 shots. Richmond overcame a two goal deficit after three quarters, with three 4th quarters goals as they delivered Carolina its second loss in a row and third loss in four games.

Ryan Lee led Richmond in scoring with 2 goals and 1 assist. Additionally, Dean Roseman added 2 assists and Austin Cunningham pumped in 2 goals for the Spiders. Peter Moran won 9 of 15 faceoffs for Richmond, including 4 out of 4 in the pivotal 4th quarter.
