Games To Watch

#17 Air Force @ #10 Duke: Well there’s just two games today, but this is probably the best game of the weekend. It’s just day four of the college lacrosse season, and we’re getting our first matchup between ranked teams. We had some exciting games so far this year, but I expect this one to be the highlight of the weekend. Duke needs to find ways to replace Myles Jones and Deemer Class, along with a few others on offense, while Air Force looks to pull off another upset at Koskinen Stadium.

Furman @ Ohio State: Furman held their own against Vermont on Thursday, before the Cardiac Catamounts came back to win in overtime. Graham Dabbs and William Holcomb each recorded a hat trick in the loss, while Hil Blaze went 16-of-28 from the face-off X. Jon Vandenberg scooped up a career-high seven ground balls in the loss. For Ohio State, they hope to start their season on a high note. They’re picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten, with Rutgers finishing in fifth. Keep an eye out for freshman attackman and midfielder Tre Leclaire.

Whitneys

You know those Celine a scenes with Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ playing when something big happens? We at College Crosse decided to make our own version, featuring the legend Whitney Houston. Any overtime goal that happens this year (and that we can get or if you send video to us), we’ll certainly Whitney it using the hashtag #WhitneyInOT. Here are the three NCAA D1 OT goals so far this year:

Song of the Day

“No matter what I do, all I think about is you.” - Air Force on thinking about upsetting Duke last year at Koskinen.

That’s it for now. First game starts at noon, so like soon. I’ll see you out there!!
