Games to keep an eye on.

  • BU @ Providence: This game should be very interesting. BU has high hopes this year. The Terriers have been close to making the Patriot League Tournament the last two years but haven’t been able to close it out when it matters the most. The Terriers return a solid team including seniors Cal Dearth and Sam Talkow who both made the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team, and junior Jack Wilson, who was the team's leading point producer (36) in 2016. Providence had a pretty good season in 2016. The Friars finished 7-9 last year and made the Big East Tournament for the first time in program history.
  • Penn St. vs. Robert Morris: This might be the year when PSU puts it all together and goes on a big run. The Lions are led on offense by Nick Aponte and Grant Ament. Aponte led the team in goals (30) and was second on the team in assists (19). Additionally, Grant Ament made a big splash last year as a freshman when he led PSU in points (54), assists (34) and was third in goals scored (20). While Penn State might be a contender this year, the Lions better be ready to play against Robert Morris. RMU has some talent on their squad and they return 2016 All-NEC Rookie Team goalkeeper Alex Heger. Heger finished 2016 third in the NEC in goals against average (8.92) and save percentage (.540). If he gets hot it could spell trouble for the Lions.
  • Cleveland State vs. Michigan: Shout out to the Vikings! If you haven’t had a chance to listen yet here’s a link to our podcast with CSU head coach Dylan Sheridan from Tuesday night. Today marks the first regular season game in program history and it seems as if the entire city of Cleveland is beyond hyped to see the Vikings ball out. Cleveland State is definitely a lacrosse school.

Song of the day.

We don’t show country music enough love around here. To remedy that deficiency here’s Luke Bryan’s smash hit Huntin', Fishin' And Lovin' Every Day.

That’s it for now. First game starts at 12:00. I’ll see you out there!!
