UVA Hidden Ball Trick Works Against Loyola.

Everyone’s trying to be Joel Tinney.

Shout out to @412EliteLax for sending us this Tweet. There were lots of games going on and I missed it.

Now this was not as crisp as the Joel Tinney goal from a couple nights ago but the ball went in and that’s all that matters. The play had a bit of Mighty Ducks magic as the three Cavs players huddle up behind the net. It is difficult to figure out who has the ball at first but once the players break apart you can see Michael Kraus flip the ball to Zed Williams for the nice goal.

While it still counts as a hidden ball goal I agree with Coach McClure here; while it was a good play, it didn’t seem as if the goalie or his defense was fooled on the play.

It appears as if Stover had a chance at stopping the nice shot by Williams, but the ball still finds its way to the back of the net. In the end that’s all that matters.

Pretty fun day on our first full Saturday of games. The best result so far has to be Monmouth’s stunner over Villanova in Philly this afternoon. Monmouth was able to hold on for the two point victory over the ‘Cats after being down for much of the game.

This is a great way to start the season for the Hawks. BOSS Fisher almost got Monmouth in the MAAC Tournament last year in only their 3rd season of existence, as Monmouth finished the season with a program best 7-7 record in 2016. A win over Villanova in the season-opener is going to give the Hawks a lot of confidence as they head to Hofstra next weekend.
