A student film project by Jamesville-DeWitt High School senior, Hal Schulman, premiered to a packed house of over 200 people at JD High auditorium on July 29th as reported by Syracuse.com. The 45-minute documentary chronicles the ups and downs of the 2016 Red Rams season. Schulman was granted all access and was embedded with the team as they made their way to the NY Class B boys state title over Yorktown.

In the Syracuse.Com article we learn that the the idea for the documentary started out with some basement banter and then quickly escalated once JD head coach, Jamie Archer, was on board

Schulman, 17, said the idea for a documentary of the season started over a basement conversation with J-D player Eric Antosh. There, Antosh texted teammate Ryan Archer, the son of head coach Jamie Archer, to ask his dad about clearance. They got a response a few minutes later. Schulman was welcome and had all access.

"Going into it, obviously, you don't know how it's going to end," Schulman said. "We knew the team was really good. I thought if there was any year to do it, this might be the year. It's such a great group of guys and they're all so close. I thought it would be really neat and interesting to get that on film and tell their story."

You can find Schulman’s Youtube page here, where you can find the documentary and Schulman’s other work, including a 10-minute “JD Lacrosse 2016: The Road to The State Championship Funny Moments” video that’s pretty great as well.
