Maryland 13 vs. Quinnipiac 6 | Maryland Recap |
College Crosse Recap.
The Terps had their way with Quinnipiac as they took care of the Bobcats 13-6 to advance to the quarterfinals. You have to give credit to Quinnipiac as they hung tough through the first half, going into intermission only down 7-3. However, the Terps demonstrated why they are the best team in the nation, as they jumped on Quinnipiac in the 3rd, outscoring the Bobcats 5-1.
Maryland was led in scoring by Phily's own, Matt Rambo. Rambo finished the day with a hat-trick and 2 assists. Fellow Terps, Bryan Cole and Henry West also had 3 goals each. However, the player of the game for the Terps was probably Austin Henningsen, who was sensational at the dot. Austin won 14/17 faceoffs and was the main reason Maryland won 12/12 faceoffs in the first half.
Quinnipiac was led in scoring by Anthon Carchietta, who had two goals. 4 other Bobcats also had 1 goal each. Jack Brust had a decent game, as he finished with 10 saves. However, he and he Bobcats defense began to wear down as the Terps kept unloading shots, especially in the pivotal 3rd quarter when MD scored 5 goals.
