College Crossecast Ep. 7: The Duopoly Edition

You didn't expect us to talk about anything besides Johns Hopkins-Syracuse, did you? Okay, we talked about other things too.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

If you look at this week's calendar, you'll notice the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament takes up the vast majority of it. But for lacrosse fans like us, you'll know there's plenty of lacrosse to go around. And by plenty of lacrosse, we mean 4 pm on ESPNU live from Baltimore Syracuse takes on Johns Hopkins in The Greatest Rivalry in College Sports Point Blank Period Ever™.

On this edition of College Crossecast, we preview this week's Johns Hopkins-Syracuse battle with some banter, share some memories of the rivalry (in Eri's case, some very dark secret memories), and be complete homers about it. But rest assured, we have the rest of the college lacrosse world covered too. We look back on a classic between Denver and Notre Dame for the #1 ranking, share thoughts and reflect on the Duke rape scandal after watching Fantastic Lies, continue to hype up Stony Brook, make you look forward to Ivy League opening weekend, and try to promote BU-Harvard in the Boston Derby with a postgame concert by the Dropkick Murphys that may or may not happen.

You can listen to this week's podcast below or click here as well. You can also subscribe on iTunes to ensure you get the podcast as soon as we're done recording late night Tuesdays.

We've got a shortened Spotify playlist in advance of our podcast special with Doc_Lunchbox tomorrow, but we've got some rivalry inspired songs for (you guessed it) Hopkins-Syracuse added on.  (Ed. Note: Almost all our picks are clean but there are still some explicit lyrics regarding our other selections, so parental discretion is advised.)
