Beasts of the day:

  • Mitch Goldberg, Richmond. The junior had a monster game today, going home with 5 goals and 1 assist. Goldberg's last goal of the day came with a little over 6 minutes to play in the game and helped Richmond escape with a tough 1 goal win on the road.  The Damascus, Md product has now registered a point in each of last 24 games.

  • Peter Moran, Richmond. The junior face-off man won 16 out 23 today against three different Fairfield players. Moran won 9 out 11 in the first half, which helped Richmond control the pace of play throughout much of the first 2 quarters. Indeed, Richmond enjoyed a 28-11 shot advantage at the half, due in large part to Moran's excellent play.

Hitters List:

  • Charlie Schnider, Fairfield. Schnider had a big day for the Stags as he finished with 5 points (3 Gs & 2 As). Charlie's 3 points in the second half (including 2 Gs) kept Fairfield in the game after going into intermission down 7-4.

  • Tyler Behring, Fairfield. Though Fairfield loss, it would have been a blowout if weren't for Tyler. The Fairfield goalie made 15 saves on the day, including 9 in the first half when Richmond was just emptying the clip enjoyed a distinct advantage in shots in the 1st & 2nd quarter. It could have gotten ugly really quick if Tyler didn't make some of those stops early in the game.
