Nice article about the Wolves Lacrosse Club down in Virginia.
At the same time, the idea of not having a league, even a recreational, non-competitive one, to play lacrosse in was out of the question. The Mihailoffs had moved to Stuarts Draft from Michigan, where the sport is huge, and his kids had played in leagues there for years.
So Mihailoff decided to start from scratch. If a league didn’t exist in Augusta County, he would start one. And that’s just what he did.
“I wanted to be sure kids, not just my kids, but every kid who wanted to play lacrosse, or just try it out, would have that opportunity,” he explained during a recent interview. “And that’s how it started.”
With the support of friends, family members, local businesses, gym teachers, college lacrosse players and coaches, and even a pro player or two, the Wolves Lacrosse Club was born.
