Marisa blessed us with another Patriot League preseason check-in post yesterday. This one’s on the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.

Lacrosse is catching on in Auckland, New Zealand.

"On Monday at training we went back to the very basics, explaining the rules and skills of the game to our young players.

"Lacrosse is an odd game, it's not something you can easily switch to like cricket to softball.

"But we all love the sport, and it's great that we have a good balance of players - I believe we have huge potential this season," she says.

Gladiator Lacrosse inked a deal with Dick’s Sporting Goods.

"We are excited to be part of the growth of lacrosse and to be able to offer even more of our customers a line of superior quality products which players can trust," Zietz said. "I understand the need to have quality lacrosse gear easily accessible to athletes with the convenience of picking up the equipment and practicing that same day; which is why I’m delighted to be able to offer our products on shelves at Dick's."

Oh boy: “Scavenger robot EATS living organisms.”

It may not be a living, breathing robot, but UK researchers have created something pretty close. Robotics experts has developed a soft robot capable of consuming organic material for energy, effectively creating a machine which digests living things. The hope is that such self-sustaining robo-scavengers could be used to mop up contaminated water or algal blooms, which choke out life.
