Notre Dame Plays The Blues With Todd Rundgren.

The Irish rock out with a legit rockstar.

Last week we Tweeted out a link of the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team stopping by the Dickinson Intermediate Fine Arts Academy for some guitar lessons alongside rock legend Todd Rundgren. The link included a great clip of Todd teaching the lads how to play his classic song “Bang The Drum All Day.

(Ed. Note: For all you unaware youngsters out there, Todd Rundgren is an A-list rock star. His 1983 smash “Bang The Drum All Day” is still played in almost every stadium during sporting events and his career as a producer helped to bring about some of the best albums of the 70s and 80s. Most importantly, Todd was born in Upper Darby, PA, which is right on the western border of Philadelphia.)

Today the Youtube page for the Spirit of Harmony Foundation (a non-profit organization that Todd formed that focuses on instrument-based music education and “nurtures the study of music through special events, public information, mentoring, advocacy, social entrepreneurship, and strategic partnerships”) released another clip of Todd and the Irish playing some tunes at the Dickinson School from last week.

If you are a fan of the blues then you’ll love this clip of Todd and a couple players playing a medley of Blues songs.

Great clip. I’m working on trying to get BOSS Corrigan and Coach Byrne to do a some duets for the people. I’ll keep you all posted.
