Penn State became the newest addition to releasing their 2017 regular season schedule today, doing so via Twitter. Some teams have slowly unveiled their schedules on Twitter, such as St. Joe’s. Penn State copied Denver and unveiled their schedule throughout the day. The Nittany Lions hope to improve on last year’s 8-7 mark and a trip to the Big Ten Tournament.

PENN STATE

The Nittany Lions have two scrimmages in State College against Navy and Army in January before kicking off the regular season February 4 against Robert Morris. The following week, they travel to take on defending NEC champion Hobart in Victory, which is 35 minutes away from Hobart’s campus in Geneva. Neutral site game?

The Nittany Lions return home on the 18th to host Jeff Tambroni’s former team, Cornell, in University Park. Penn State edged the Big Red in last year’s meeting, 8-7, back in Ithaca. The Lions wrap up the regular season against defending NCAA Basketball National Champion Villanova on the Main Line on the 25th.

Penn State returns home for two games as they take on Penn on March 4, followed three days later with Furman. Penn State’s Twitter account gives zero respect to Penn’s helmets, along with Furman.

They did all of their opponents with Cascade helmets, but giving Penn a CPX-R is pure disrespect.

Penn State travels to Cambridge to take on Harvard on March 11 after beating the Crimson in overtime last season in State College. Penn State’s first seven opponents are the same from last year. Games eight and nine bring two new opponents to State College in Fairfield (March 18) and newcomer Cleveland State (March 25).

Also, this kid is smart.

And Cleveland State’s club team (who wears Cascade helmets) is up to the challenge!

Back to the schedule, and once the calendar turns to April, Big Ten play begins. The Nittany Lions wrap up a three-game home stand on April 2 as they host Ohio State under the lights. Penn State then goes on a Crabcake road trip for two weeks as they take on Maryland (April 8) and Johns Hopkins (April 15) and hope to avenge two tough overtime losses from last year. The Lions wrap up the regular season as they take on Rutgers at home on April 23, followed by the season finale at Michigan on April 29.

Penn State returns numerous guys on offense, such as captain Nick Aponte and Haverford School grad Grant Ament, along on defense with fellow Ford and former current mayor of Harleysville Chris Sabia and goalie Will Schreiner, an Avon Grove alum. The Nittany Lions also have a good crop of freshmen that include attackmen Mac O’Keefe and Cole Willard and FOGOs Nick McEvoy and Gerard Arceri.

Here’s who else released their schedules:

Hofstra, St. Joe’s, Towson, and UMass Lowell
