COLLEGE CROSSECAST: We're Secretly a Hockey Blog And This Podcast Episode Proves It

Ryan, Chris, Jake, and Marisa join together to preview the 2016-17 NHL season because it's not like Fall Ball's interesting to talk about.

Nobody likes Tom Wilson but the Islanders don't like Tom Wilson more than your team does.

College Crossecast is back and here to talk about.... hockey? Yep, it's true, we've done a NHL preview podcast similar to the football one we did last month. Eri's not forced to talk about a sport he's not too into, so Ryan, Chris, Jake, and Marisa are all on board to chat about the upcoming hockey season.

We talk about lacrosse for about 30 seconds and hockey for over two hours, but in here we chat about:

  • Which teams are going to surprise and which are going to disappoint
  • How awful Columbus and Edmonton are going to be
  • Is anyone stopping Pittsburgh or Washington in the Metropolitan? (No.)
  • Our favorites for some of the top awards
  • A team-by-team rundown heading into this season because we can't keep our podcasts short, even with Marisa making a guest appearance
  • Our playoff and Stanley Cup picks
  • For some reason we take a digression into hockey television at the end

So join us as we chat some hockey, because if you haven't followed any of us on Twitter by now, you'd realize we're really a hockey blog that also loves lacrosse. And like college lacrosse, the NHL is where Canada's pastime sees zero teams from Canada in the playoffs.
