STORIES

Lehigh kicks off preseason practice with season opener on the horizon
The Lehigh men's lacrosse team opened preseason practice this week as the Mountain Hawks begin preparations for the season opener set for Feb. 7 vs. Marquette. Lehigh features a veteran squad in 2015 which will vie for its third Patriot League Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.

2015 NCAA Preview: Yale
The Bulldogs may not have a reputation as a high-octane offense, but they have averaged at least 37 shots per game in each of the last four seasons. Part of the reason: In each of those years they’ve also won at least 58% of their face-offs.

Maryland's Murray Facing Eligibility Issues; Princeton, Tampa Departures
Maryland senior defenseman Goran Murray is facing eligibility issues and is unlikely to be selected early — if at all — in Friday’s MLL Draft, multiple MLL sources have told Inside Lacrosse.

#LMRanks DI Men's Preview: No. 7 Virginia
Can three years away from the semifinal weekend be considered a slump? For most programs, the concept is laughable, but for Virginia, it's a rare absence from the prime time show of Memorial Day, where the Cavaliers last made the show in 2011 on the way to their fifth NCAA crown. Defense has been an achilles heel in the past two seasons, but hopes are high that the always-potent offensive group and an improved back line will pave the way back to 'normal' Top 5 territory in 2015.

Men’s lacrosse looks to build on historic second season
Last season, the Marquette men’s lacrosse team was able to fly under the radar, surprising many with its second-place finish in the Big East Conference. This season, Big East Coach of the Year Joe Amplo returns with a new group, knowing there will be more of a target on the team’s back.

2015 Preview: Marquette Golden Eagles
If there was ever a team that was not defined by their record, it might just be the Marquette Golden Eagles. Seriously, do not let the 6-10 record fool you, 2014 was a positive year for this program, and so the biggest thing for them in 2015 is not necessarily tied to more offense, or better defense, or rebuilding, etc. The key thing for Head Coach Joe Amplo is momentum.

The MLL Draft will be held on Friday in Baltimore. Kevin Rice and Randy Staats should both be selected, the only question is when?

Kyle Devitte's MLL Draft Big Board
I love white boards. The first thing I asked for when I walked into the Inside Lacrosse offices was a giant white board. They handed me a laptop and some mesh and said, "We’ll work on it." Well, I may not have my whiteboard in the office but I have my own at home and my life would fall apart without it.
