There are two title games today. This feels right:
Here are your two highlights for today:
- Notre Dame at Syracuse: It's not necessarily an "upset" final -- it's not like Syracuse and Notre Dame are cripples thrown into an MMA ring -- but it's not the championship game that many (any?) expected. The Irish and Orange will play for the ACC's first automatic invitation ever at PPL Park, an opportunity for Notre Dame to erase any fears of NCAA Tournament exclusion and a chance for Syracuse to prove its worth as a potential top seed in The Big Barbecue. The last time these two teams met people were power sliding across the stage in an 11-10 Syracuse win, a forgotten game that was filled with pop. A similar show could break out on the outskirts of Philadelphia.
- Lehigh at Loyola: The FBI is staking out Ridley for potential bid stealin' this afternoon. The 'Hounds are the favorite on their home field, but the Mountain Hawks have an opportunity to rip an invitation from Loyola's hands and shrink the at-large field fighting for room on the NCAA Tournament bubble. Loyola straight up thumped Lehigh earlier in the season, but the Hawks aren't -- from a high level -- seven goals worse than the Greyhounds at this stage of the season. This is a big spot for Lehigh: A win ensures bonus lacrosse this season; a loss likely keeps the Mountain Hawks outside of the field.
Here's Sunday's full schedule. If there are errors, please let me know. I'll fix/populate links to live stats and video as the day progresses (if necessary).
