One game does not a season make. Terps can rebound from 6-5 semifinal loss to Irish
I've written these words before: Don't panic. Maryland will be fine - the 5-6 loss to Notre Dame in the ACC semifinal notwithstanding. The Terps will bounce back against Navy in a week or so and make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. Though the Terps certainly would have liked to have gone out of the ACC with a tournament title, this game meant more to the Irish by several orders of magnitude.

Maryland-Notre Dame Lacrosse: Irish win in "trench warfare", advance to Sunday's championship.
In a game that meant so much to both teams, the Irish came out on top, moving onto the ACC Tournament Final, and sealing up a spot in the NCAA Tournament with a 6-5 win over the Terps. When you put two teams together who have defined tough defense, great goaltending, and gritty play over the last few years in college lacrosse, this is what you get. Trench warfare. And Notre Dame was just a bit better and got the victory.

Villanova Lacrosse vs. Providence: Preview, Game Time, History and more
While they secured their berth in the Big East championship with their win in early April over Rutgers, this is a game the Wildcats desperately need. Expect them to come out fired up, and ready to put on as they bid farewell to their elders on senior night. Eight seniors will be honored.

One Foot Down

Men's Lacrosse: Irish beat Maryland, 6-5 in ACC Semifinals
A berth in the NCAA tournament was assumed for ND regardless of the result, but was still dicey. While 6-6, the Irish had a very impressive resume, with two top-10 wins and 5 losses over ranked teams. A loss to Penn State was the only blemish on their resume. Yet, at 6-6, they would still have to face the gauntlet of hoping that there weren't enough upsets in other tournaments.

With three wins over top-10 teams, a berth is all but assured for Notre Dame, but a ACC Championship would guarantee it.

2014 ACC Tournament, Syracuse 16 - Duke 15: Redemption
They've had their heart and their effort questioned this season. Their face-off man at one point better resembled a firing target for criticism, taking the brunt of the blame for the entire team. They were embarrassed on national television in one of the worst losses in Syracuse history. But since that loss in late March to the Duke Blue Devils, the Syracuse Orange have shown their character and mental toughness, fighting back and reclaiming their season.

Michigan lacrosse faces Robert Morris in regular season finale
After playing in the NEC Championship in 2013, the Colonials are now the losers of four of their last five games. Three of those games were against ranked opponents (Maryland, Notre Dame, and Bryant).

Men's Lacrosse Big East Game 6 Preview: At #3 Denver (11-2, 5-0 Big East)
At the beginning of the season, it looked like the final game of the regular season involving Big East teams would be a massive mismatch between two teams beginning their first seasons as members of the conference. It paired Denver, the preseason league favorite and #4 team in the country, against Marquette, the second year program and preseason choice to finish last in the Big East.
