College Lacrosse Schedule for April 26, 2014

This feels right:

Here are your three highlights for today:

  • Demanding MAAC Chaos: Here's the deal: There is a reasonable possibility that five teams -- Canisius, Manhattan, Quinnipiac, Detroit, and Marist -- finish with identical 3-3 records in conference play, forcing an apocalyptic tiebreaker between the teams to determine which three teams will accompany Siena to the MAAC Tournament. Chaos is the best, and unless you have various t-shirts with these teams' logos emblazoned on the front, you should be rooting for it with the strength of 10,000 anarchists.
  • Rutgers at Georgetown: A Rutgers win on The Hilltop propels the Scarlet Knights into the Big East Tournament; a Georgetown win pushes St. John's into the tournament. The focus for the league today is at the top where Denver and Marquette will determine the conference's regular season champion, but the fun lies in Washington D.C. where two teams will have their postseason volitions determined.
  • Harvard at Yale // Cornell v. Princeton: Have you ever seen a pissed off industrialist in a blazer with patches on the sleeve wrestle a bear? That's kind of what these two games are. All four are playing for postseason concerns, and the clarity around these four teams' futures are somewhat clouded: (1) Princeton's May hopes turn exclusively on making the NCAA Tournament field as an at-large and needs a win today against Cornell; (2) Even though Cornell appears squarely in the field, the Red are seeking seeding insurance; (3) Harvard wants blood; and (4) Yale refuses to be a sacrificial lamb. Pissed off industrialists in blazers, people, thumping bears.

Here's Saturday's full schedule. If there are errors, please let me know. I'll fix/populate links to live stats and video as the day progresses (if necessary).
