College Lacrosse Schedule for March 5, 2014

There are three games today.

Marianna Massey

I've been obsessing over Russian dashboard camera videos ever since Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician turned me on to their existence yesterday. I can't stop watching them. It's insane. Russia is, apparently, an oversized Grand Theft Auto map, creating reality where there should only be fiction.

I don't want these videos to stop. Ever. If the continued availability of dashboard cameras means that Putin has to stay in no-shirt-necessary power for decades, I'm willing to accept that. Because, really, I can no longer live without this:

Anyway, there are three games today. Here are your highlights:

  • Hartford at Brown: Bruno opened its season with a nice win over Quinnipiac and quickly followed that victory with a crushing defeat at the hands of Massachusetts, putting up two goals against the Minutemen and yielding 15. The Bears are still an unknown in 2014, but the Hawks could provide an interesting test for Brown this afternoon: Hartford isn't a steaming pile, and the Hawks have an extra game under their belts. This game is probably more important for Bruno than Hartford right now (these teams are preparing for markedly different conference seasons), and the result may provide further clarity or complications around Brown's existence.
  • Michigan at High Point: The Wolverines' performance against Cornell -- a 14-15 overtime loss for Michigan -- only provides value if Michigan uses that game as a platform to something more tangible: Wins against programs that are at the Wolverines' level and below. High Point is far from a pushover for Michigan -- the Panthers are on a three-game win streak, beating St. Joseph's, Sacred Heart, and Jacksonville in consecutive games -- and the Wolverines aren't assured of anything despite the team's effort against the Big Red. This is the type of game that helps define a program's growth, and how High Point and Michigan perform this evening will drive each team's volition through the haunting days of March.

Here's today's full schedule with links to things so that you can monitor the carnage:
