Lacrosse the Internet: March 5, 2014

You want stuff? This is stuff.

This is obviously your favorite site, but other people actually write important stuff sometimes. Now is that sometimes.

A Full Pint

Michigan 14, Cornell 15 (OT)

Michigan played neither horseshoes nor hand grenades in Oosterbaan Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, I think the program is still young enough that a moral victory counts for something – just not in the record book.

That's an excellent thought from Michigan's perspective, but for Cornell, the Red shouldn't be in a position to provide the young Wolverines with a moral victory. This isn't to imply that Michigan isn't worthy of making Cornell win in a tough spot; rather, it's that Cornell -- despite reasonably coming back to the field in 2014 given the volume of contributor losses the team has suffered -- probably shouldn't be in a position where it needs overtime to dispatch a third-year program (regardless of the Wolverines' results this season).

As good of an effort as it was for Michigan it was equal confusing with respect to the Big Red. Cornell has a vitally important date with Virginia this coming weekend, and the Red need to quickly find their volition to avoid a potentially difficult result.
