College Lacrosse Schedule for February 22, 2014

New, 141 comments

TV listings, video streams, live stats, and an open thread. It's pretty much the place to be.

There are 30 -- !!!!! -- games today pitting 90 percent of Division I's membership against each other in some form or fashion. In fact, there will be almost as many Division I games today as there have been thus far this season (52). I don't even know what to think about that. The college lacrosse season went from having the cruise control locked at 55 and suddenly accelerated to ludicrous speed in an instant. Once the day is through, every one of Division I's 67 members will have played at least one regular season game in 2014, proof that things are actually in motion and that college lacrosse isn't in a pseudo-suspended state of animation.

Here are your three highlights for today:

  • Maryland at Syracuse: The Terrapins have been getting a ton of production from Matt Rambo and Mike Chanenchuk, but the competition for the Terps so far this season has been . . . questionable. The Terps' trip to the Dome marks an important moment for Maryland: Can the team, buoyed by its defense and an expected advantage at the dot, get a sufficient performance from its offense to topple the Orange? This game is probably more about the Terrapins than it is about Syracuse, and how Maryland shows in a tough spot against a strong opponent could define the Terps' ceiling for 2014 as it continues to adopt an identity.
  • Drexel at Albany: This, basically:

  • Penn State at Notre Dame: This, basically (I don't know which is which):

Here's Saturday's full schedule. If there are errors, please let me know. I'll fix/populate links to live stats and video as the day progresses (if necessary).

This is your open thread for Saturday. I own only three pairs of shoes -- black shoes, brown shoes, and a pair of sneakers. People will be around to yak about whatever is tickling their fancy.

Also, if you haven't yet, give a "like" to College Crosse over on Facebook and make sure to give a follow @SexyTimeLax.
