Lacrosse the Internet: August 22, 2013

Have you gotten your new Trapper Keeper yet?

This is obviously your favorite site, but other people actually write important stuff sometimes. Now is that sometimes.

Requiem for a Season: Detroit Titans 2013
If you had asked me (or anyone) about halfway through the season if Detroit would be achieving something unprecedented this season, it certainly wouldn’t have been good achievements. The Titans were 0-fer in their first six games, and after the first 11 contests, the only victories had come against two of the nation’s true bottom-dwellers.

The Blake School (MN) 2014 DEF Blease commits to Hobart
“I chose Hobart for three main reasons. First it was a good fit. Second I was extremely impressed with coaching staff lead by Coach Raymond. Lastly I wanted to be a part of the unique lacrosse culture at Hobart that has roots going back to the early days of lacrosse.”

Massapequa (NY) 2015 attackman Konen commits to Binghamton
“The whole package that Binghamton had to offer was unbeatable. From their incredible academic standing to the lacrosse program, seemed like the perfect fit. Coach (Scott) Nelson and Coach (Matt) Francis also made me feel very comfortable there. I love their approach to coaching.”

Homire, leading scorer among middies on St. Anthony's (NY) JV team, gives BU its first 2015 tristate commit
A natural righty, the offensive-minded Homire is strong with both hands. An effective dodger, Homire possesses outstanding field vision.

Haverford School 2016 midfielder Aitken commits to Virginia
“I loved how The University had so many traditions and such a rich history. Academically, Virginia is a first class institution. Athletically, Virginia is always one of the top programs every year so I knew it had the best combination of everything I was interested in pursuing in a college. Coaches (Dom) Starsia, (Marc) Van Ardsdale, and Walker spent the day with me and my parents and made us all feel very much at home."

Holy Ghost Prep 2014 midfielder Zaba commits to Mount St. Mary's
“A key factor when deciding on Mount St. Mary’s University was their respected academic standards and their great Business / Accounting program. Coming from Holy Ghost Prep, I felt very comfortable with a Catholic school like Mount St. Mary’s because of its small class sizes and great teacher to student ratios. I was also very impressed with Coach (Tom) Gravante and his coaching staff and what they had to offer. I feel like the lacrosse program is heading in the right direction.”
