College Lacrosse Schedule for March 14, 2013

There's just one game tonight, folks.

Jonathan Daniel

College lacrosse is kind of limping into the weekend. After Tuesday's mega-slate of games and last night's ACC throwdown, tonight gives us an ECAC conference game -- Michigan visiting Fairfield -- that doesn't quite get the weekend on the launch pad for what could be an exciting show. It's not that conference games aren't interesting -- they are, duh -- it's just that . . . Michigan is probably going to take one on the chin tonight to a decent-but-not-fantastic Stags squad. I'm not asking for laser light shows every night, people, but for a stand-alone game on a Thursday evening, this isn't exactly moving the meter.

Anyway, here's your note on tonight's highlighted game. :

  • Michigan at Fairfield: I honestly feel for Michigan. The Wolverines are still finding their way through Division I lacrosse in only their neophyte effort, and the results -- partly driven by a beast of a schedule -- haven't been pretty. You can pick your spots and note that Michigan has been doing X, Y, and Z fairly well compared to 2012, but in the overall the Wolverines are still struggling at this level of competition. Things are sure to improve down the line for Michigan -- the Wolverines don't accept "meh," and things are moving in the right direction in Ann Arbor -- but 2013 is going to be filled with lots of boots to the face for the maize and blue. Tonight has all the look of another loss for Michigan, but the most important thing is that the Wolverines keep pushing forward.

Here's today's full schedule with links to things so that you can monitor the carnage (Wagner isn't in action and that makes me sad on the inside):
