Lacrosse the Internet: Sunday Special!

Make some coffee or something. Also, you're out of eggs.

This is obviously your favorite site, but other people actually write important stuff sometimes. Now is that sometimes.

Hi. Have you met...Austin Lyons?

#LMranks: Telling Numbers Ahead of 2013 Season
Here's more preview content in the form of telling numbers from teams in our Division I men's and women's top 20s. Visit for our complete preseason coverage.

Quint: 2013 Season, A to Z
The Division I men's college lacrosse season seems to start earlier and earlier every year, and this time that's a bonus, because 2013 might be the most anticipated campaign in the history of the sport. A slew of rules changes, including the introduction of a shot clock, and the return of decorated Cornell attackman Rob Pannell are among the major storylines. After a change-laden offseason, here's an A-to-Z primer to get you up to speed:

NCAA Preview 2013: Duke
The Duke Blue Devils rode a 15-5 record to the NCAA Final Four last season, falling to Maryland 16-10.

NCAA Preview 2013: Notre Dame
In handicapping the NCAA Tournament, look for Notre Dame: The Fighting Irish have lost to the national champion in the NCAA Tournament in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 (in the title game) and last year.

NCAA Preview 2013: Cornell
Cornell is nearing the end of its first week of practice after getting underway last Friday and, weather-permitting, will scrimmage Albany on Sunday (pushed from Saturday because of snow). Coach Ben DeLuca said of his team that despite some players being on the sidelines with the flu or another kind of stomach bug, “in general it’s great to be on the field competing again.”

NCAA Preview 2013: Lehigh
Lehigh enters the 2013 season with the defensive core that helped its rise to national prominence and led a historic year in Bethlehem, Pa. The Mountain Hawks also bring back a stellar attack group, their No. 1 face-off option, an All-America goalie and upperclassmen leadership.

Terps Crafting New Look in Quest for Elusive Title
Maryland's Curtis Holmes is part of a nine-member senior class that has played in two straight national title games. © John Strohsacker/ University of Maryland coach John Tillman understands why so much is expected of the Terrapins. Maryland, which enters the 2013 season ranked No. 2, has played in the NCAA men's championship game for two straight years. The Terps, who have gone 37 seasons without a national title, return many key contributors from a year ago.

Here are all of the matchups this season between our preseason Top 20 teams.

Grip ‘N Rip: Duke Attackman Josh Dionne
Lacrosse Playground, every once in awhile, features a different lacrosse athlete as part of our “Grip ‘N Rip” series, where we’ll find out what the best use to fine tune their game. Today we feature Duke Blue Devils attackman, Josh Dionne. The Junior from Avon Old Farms started 19 of 20 games at attack last season. Dionne ranked fourth on the team in points with 36 goals and seven assists for 43 points. We had the opportunity to chat with Josh about what he is sniping corners with this season.

Today's beats: Seems like decent reasons, but I'd prefer if "cheese" was actually the focus.
