Every Division I tournament. Every team. College Crosse has it all on lockdown. Please send cookies and naptime. Today we're slashing to bits the NEC Tournament.
The Northeast Conference is still a bit of an infant to the lacrosse scene. This year, the conference earned its first guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament, receiving its bid to The Big Barbecue in their third season of play.
The bad news is that the winner of this tournament will be stuck playing either a one- or two-seed the first weekend of the NCAA's. But that's not what's important here. On the line are bragging rights associated with winning the conference's first auto-bid (before the league has a new flavor next season with Quinnipiac's departure (and Monmouth's decision to join the MAAC before ever suiting up for an NEC game)), as well as the opportunity to get some extra exposure in the NCAA Tournament (something all of these schools desperately want). Bryant hosts the event with Robert Morris, Quinnipiac, and Sacred Heart joining the fun. The NEC's broadcast website will stream all of the games (which, like the rest of the regular season, is totally free), so get your computing machines fired up for the conference's postseason. Here's how THE FACEOFF looks for this one:
