Every Division I tournament. Every team. College Crosse has it all on lockdown. Please send cookies and naptime. Today we're slashing to bits the ECAC Tournament.
Remember the Frozen Four last month? "The hell is that?!" you say? You know, the thing that featured two ECAC teams facing off for the NCAA men's hockey title? Forget it, then, because those teams aren't in the ECAC lacrosse league. (Hooray, combining-the-Ivy-League-and-Upstate-New-York-schools-and-Quinnipiac!) The good news is that the ECAC is a very strong lacrosse conference, with last year's national champion -- Loyola (for the time being) -- and a top-five mainstay -- Denver -- logging miles in the conference. And that means that the league's postseason should be a fun week on the north shore of Seneca Lake.
THE FACEOFF is here to give you a look at this big tournament on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Denver and Loyola are pretty much sure-fire locks for the NCAA Tournament at this point, but Ohio State is on the bubble and an appearance in the ECAC Tournament final could do wonders for the Buckeyes' NCAA Tournament chances. And lest we forget Fairfield, who's looking to play spoiler by potentially grab an auto-bid, causing everybody else on the bubble to go into panic mode. The games can be seen on your local FSN affiliate, Fox College Sports channel, and Fuel TV (because nothing says lacrosse like EXTREMEEEEEE SPORTS AND UFC!). Plus, I'll be heading over to the championship game on Saturday to do some live game monitoring/blogging/tweeting/whatever. Without further ado, here's THE FACEOFF for the ECAC Tournament:
