The storyline for the Pioneers throughout the preseason will be replacing Mark Matthews and Alex Demopoulos at attack. The scoring duo was unarguably the best the program ever had, racking up a combined 111 points last season. While coach Bill Tierney believes the team has the pieces to fill the void left, the attention remains at attack, where senior Eric Law returns as the lone starter. Until the Pioneers can prove they can replace Matthews and Demopoulos, teams will more than likely focus on Law, making him more of a facilitator and less of a finisher.
