Concussions in Lacrosse: A Question and Answer
The NFL has been taking a lot of heat over its policy around concussions and how they have (or have not) taken strides to limit such injuries, but lacrosse hasn't exactly been immune from the concussion saga either.
The link will take you to Inside Lacrosse's interview with a concussion expert. The most scary aspect of the dialogue? This:
"[W]e’re not there with regard to concussion and I don’t think helmets will ever be the 100% about concussions, but I think we can get a lot better. Having said that, the science isn’t known today exactly how to do that, so therefore I think there’s an urgent need to continue to do research to come up with more novel ways of attenuating the energies that happen when athletes receive blows to the head."
You want to make millionmonies? Go get a mechanical engineering or bio-engineering degree, get a job at Cascade, and fix the concussion-helmet issue.
